Parallels 5 Download For Mac

NOTE: Download links for active Parallels Desktop for Mac versions, documentation, Parallels Transporter Agent and Parallels Virtualization SDK downloads are available here: parallels.com/products/desktop/download/

Parallels will automatically search out the Windows install image on the Select Installation Image window. If it finds the Windows 10 .VHDX file that you downloaded in Step 3, click Continue. Otherwise, click the Choose Manually button.

To run Windows 11 on your M1 Mac, you will have to download and install Parallels Desktop 17 app from its official website. The app comes with a 14-day free trial, after which you will have to get its paid version to use it. The app costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99 for the Pro Edition. For most users, a standard license will be enough. That said, you should check the feature comparison chart on the official website to see which edition is best suited for your needs.

8. After the installation finishes, Parallels Desktop will launch on Mac, giving you an option to install Windows. Click on the Skip button, as we will download the Windows 11 installer file manually.

Now that we have installed the Parallels Desktop 17 app, we will need to download Windows 11 ARM version. The reason you cannot run the regular x86 version of Windows 11 on M1 Macs is that the Apple Silicon chipsets are based on ARM architecture.

Click a version to expand it into a summary of new features and changes in that version since the last release, and access the download buttons for the detailed release notes, which include important information, such as pre-requisites, software compatibility, installation instructions, and known issues. You can copy a link to a specific version's section by clicking the chain icon next to its name.

So I downloaded the latest trial version of parallels and was able to start up my VISTA ultimate virtual machine but had to fix hardware drivers, sound and network. Looks like the virtual components are named different in parallels 6. Did the same for my Ubuntu Linux machine and this worked fine.

I downloaded the latest trial version of VMware fusion and imported the virtual Vista machine. I started Vista and it needed a lot of new hardware drivers. Windows updates had to installed although this was not the case under parallels. After the updates I had a working system. Imported Ubuntu and this was working fine.

I had the same issue, as Stephan, with installing Ubuntu 22.04 on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021) M1 Pro with 32 GB RAM. I had the Apple store version 1.7.x (I think it was 1.7.2). Per the advice in the accepted solution above, I removed Parallels from my machine, logged into my parallels.com account, and re-installed parallels Version 17.1.2 (51548)) after downloading and activating the new install, I followed the advice given above accepted solution and Ubuntu 22.04 is now running as per the accepted solution answer.

UPDATE 5/4/2022Based on a support email I received from parallels.com, the Apple store version I had installed was parallels desktop and is not the same as the parallel Pro version I purchased on the parallels.com web site. I was sent the following link for future information, but in a nut shell, I do believe that parallels pro was required in my case.

On the other hand, you can download VirtualBox on your Mac for free, but you still have to pay for the Windows operating system, Microsoft Project and other Windows apps. Its user interface is also more difficult to use than the Parallels Desktop, which requires users to be more tech-savvy.

So I need to download an ISO or VHDX file of Windows 10 Pro for ARM architecture for college. I use a mac with the M1 processor but the download pages for Microsoft windows only offer windows 11 arm and not windows 10 arm. I previously used Windows 10 Pro and have a digital license, but need the edition for arm architecture to run in my virtual machine software.

I feel you or severely over complicating this. I simply downloaded the Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_21354.vhdx then installed Parallels for M1. Ran Parallels and pointed it to the .vhdx file.

Can you provide me the that win 10 arm.vhdx file in Google drive link !! I need it urgently for my school project and currently in the website I have to be member of the windows insider program to download that file.

Thanks! I've already reached it. I used this site to download the windows 10 ARM version, I had tryed some versions and the 21390 worked for me. I also choose the option to download the iso in one click, so I didn't have to convert any type of file.

Sorry, I forgot to say one thing. I did the download into another PC in a windows 10 x64. On mac, using the site that I`ve sent and another sites, it always broken up. Try to download like this image bellow, this works to me:

The problem that I have is, I downloaded Win 10 Insider preview 10.0.21382.1000 (co_release) [arm64]. I could installed in my macbook pro M1 using parallels, but it said that the build is expired. Install a new build of windows now. The 21390 build is hasn't Internet Explorer 11 (was removed). I need it to run a banking site. I dont know what to do.

I had the same problem. I arrived in the step 6 and I don't know what I can do after that. Now I'm trying to download another version of the iso to see if the problem was specific with the one that I've downloaded.

edit : additional problems that I ran into, You should check .NET framework 3.5 before downloading the iso because it might be difficult to install later if you need internet explorer and that's why you use windows 10 instead of 11 I recommend that you do that

Purchase vRigger and follow the downloading instructions. You will be prompted to enter your vRigger license key during this process. After entering your license key, you'll be prompted to check for, and to download, the rigging gear.

Norton IS compatible with the M1 ARM chips per this post. HoweverThe VM and the host OS both require a seperate install of Norton to protect both. The issue I see is with the pre-release of Windows 11 which Norton parallels itself may not see as a supported OS.

With no solution being offered for my problem at this time, it appears my only option is to do without Norton and wait. When Windows 11 releases, Norton may have a version compatible that I can download. If my Norton subscription expires before that happens, I will not renew.

I don't remember what version of Norton I was running in Parallels on my previous Mac. When I upgraded to my new Mac (M1), I found that I had to install Windows 11 with Parallels as I noted in a previous comment. After that install, I went to my Norton account web page from a browser running in the virtual machine (Parallels 17 and Windows 11) and attempted to download the latest version of Norton from there. That is when I received the error message that it would not download because it was not compatible with the operating system (Windows 11 I assume).

From what little I have learned, in order to run Windows on an M1 Mac, I need to run Parallels 17 (which has been designed to run on the M1 chip). Windows 10 will not install on Parallels 17, only Windows 11 will. Parallels provides instructions on how to load and run Windows 11 on Parallels 17 on an M1 Mac. I have followed those instructions and so far everything works, including newer apps like Microsoft 365 and some very old legacy apps dating back 10 years. So far, the only app I cannot get to work in this Windows 11 environment is Norton. And, to be clear, the problem is that it will not download. It may in fact work once installed but I can't find out because it will not download.
